Clara Sandler

Clara Sandler, mezzo-soprano, a native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, feels at home in a wide range of styles, from opera, oratorio and recitals, to zarzuela and tango. Clara Sandler was the featured soloist at the Boston premiere of Górecki’s “Symphony of Sorrowful Songs” with the Boston Chamber Ensemble. With this orchestra she also performed Wagner’s “Wesendonck Lieder”, her singing praised by The Boston Globe for its “dark and attractive timbre”. She has appeared in opera and oratorio with many Boston area music organizations. An avid researcher of music from Spain and Latin America, Clara Sandler has presented many recitals in Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Uruguay and in her native Buenos Aires. She has appeared in many concerts with the Boston Arts Consort, Her CD “Alma Apasionada, Songs from Spain and Argentina”, recorded in Jordan Hall with pianist William Merrill, was released by Newport Classic. Clara Sandler is on the voice faculty at Boston College and the New England Conservatory Preparatory School. She received her certification as a teacher of the Alexander Technique at the Alexander Technique Center of Cambridge, under master teacher Tommy Thompson. She teaches Alexander Technique classes at NEC as well as privately. She recently presented the workshop “Voice & Movement, a Flowing Integration” at the Freedom to Make Music Alexander Technique Conference 2018 in New York.

She will be performing Recital of Songs and duets from Spain with flamenco dancer Eva Lorca, accompanied by pianist Linda Papatopoli
