Claire Gagnon

Painter Claire Gagnon  is an an acrylic painter with an impressionistic/realistic style.  Dynamic and award-winning, she has more than 20 years’ experience painting with acrylics.  She started painting in 1996 in Montreal, Quebec.  Studying for four years with Micheline Raymond, an award winning artist, and founder of the Creativ'Art Gallery and School in Montreal. She gets her inspiration from impressionist masters such as Monet, Turner, Renoir, and Edward Hopper.  She studied under several New England great masters including Don Demers, Charles Movali, David Curtis, Tom Gill, and David Lussier. Studying with each of them broadened her skills and helped her evolve as an artist.  Already a colorist, she learned how to push each color further, adding more emotion, contrast, and nuance.  Each workshop helped her create paintings with deeper impact and better sense of composition and harmony.

Claire is  a member of the Whistler House Museum of Art, Lowell, MA, the Brush Art Gallery, Lowell, MA, The Arts League of Lowell, Lowell, MA, the Arts Institute Group of the Merrimack Valley, Methuen, MA and the Chelmsford Art Society, Chelmsford, MA.  She also volunteered as a board member with the Brush Art Gallery, Arts Institute Group of the Merrimack Valley, and the Chelmsford Art Society.Her artwork is part of public collections such as The Enterprise Bank and Lowell City Hall, both in Lowell, MA and in private collection in the USA, Canada, Italy, and Switzerland. She has won numerous awards such as the Popular Vote Award at the North Shore Arts Association, Gloucester, MA, and 1st Place Award at the Westford Regional Show, Westford, MA.
